Previously there was going to be an album birthday party but something came along and put pay to that.
By the time it came to be able to do something there was an EP in the pipeline. Wait…. Let’s do an EP Launch party……
Kicking the night off was Elliot Rose an impressive guitarist and vocalist and followed up by some pop/rock from Sofasonic.
Next up were Hunted By Elephants who stepped things up on the rock front with the brilliant vocals of Apostolos Liapis. These guys were great with a powerful stage prescence and how often do you see the lead singer of a rock band whip out his flute for a solo!
If you get the chance to catch them live do or have a listen on Spotify etc…
And then, attired in matching lab coats it was time for Electric Black.
Kicking the set off with Calendar Queen from the new EP they followed it up with another with Close To Death which is an awesome song and great live.
Yes there were a few technical issues with a couple of the guitars but no-one cared they were just enjoying some great music and entertainment at an EP Launch party.
There was a cover of Hozier track Take Me To Church from the Ep thrown in too, and what a stunning cover it was!
And how often do you see a guitarist suddenly appear with a bottle of Jack Daniels before taking a few swigs and then using the bottle as a slide on his guitar fretboard. Rock. and. roll. is. not. dead.
The powerhouse trio of the glorious Eagle, the beautiful Love Is A Light and the true to life story in the epic and rousing Homecoming appear towards the end of the set.
An encore features the somewhat amazing Not Afraid To Die and then an encore to the encore takes place and sadly the show is over.
Electric Black were an awesome blend of great music, huge talent and one hell of a bunch of great guys.
The party had finally happened….. Music had been delivered and applause had been received. It can safely be said that Electric Black know how to rock.
If you get the chance to see them, go along and support the guys, you won’t be disappointed.
Electric Black are four hard rockers from Hertfordshire looking to making a notable impression on the UK rock scene with their debut full length album “The Calm Before” – released November 2019. The album received widespread applause and critical acclaim; Powerplay magazine gave it 9/10 “A serious collection of solid rock tunes.” and Classic Rock magazine rated it 7/10 saying “A Determined and Dynamic Debut”. Drawing influence from the likes of Bad Company, Jet, Rival Sons & Black Stone Cherry, Electric Black combine bold rock riffs, mean guitar licks and clean vocal tones with sweet harmonies to create a hybrid modern/classic rock sound to please a range of audiences.
The band’s line up comprises; ex-White Line Diaries members and long-time song writing partners Ali Shiach (Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar) and Jonny Bryant (Lead Guitar), and ex-Tequila Mockingbird rhythm partners Ryan Trotman (Bass) and Matt Butler (Drums).
